Grief News, Yaqub Commissioner of Bawaslu Surabaya Passes Away

Jakarta, Smartmoslem.com – The Surabaya City Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) is grieving. One of the commissioners, Yaqub Baliyya Al Arief, died while being treated in hospital, on Thursday, February 11, 2021 morning. The deceased is known to have a history of diabetes and typhus plus exposure to COVID-19.

The sad news was confirmed by the Head of Bawaslu Surabaya, M Agil Akbar. “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. The big family of Bawaslu Surabaya is mourning. Pak Yaqub passed away this morning at around 09.00 WIB,” he confirmed to reporters.

Agil explained that Yaqub was treated at Darmo Hospital Surabaya since January 29, 2021. He was hospitalized because of complications of diabetes and typhus. His condition is getting worse because he is also confirmed positive for COVID-19. “He has complications so he must be treated,” he said.
